Liverpool bounced back to beat Burnley at Anfield on Saturday and had to do so without as many as 11 players. The Reds remain without key men Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai and also lost Trent Alexander-Arnold at half-time. A bout of flu had hit the Liverpool squad and robbed Klopp of Alisson Becker and Joe Gomez for the weekend win, while there remains a number of long-term injury absentees.

Klopp's low blow to Arteta thanks to Jorge Mendes, Premier League shocker

The victory saw Liverpool go back to the top of the Premier League though and Jürgen Klopp will hope to be able to add some players to his squad for this weekend's trip to Brentford. The Reds haven't won at Brentford in either of their last two visits and have shipped three goals on both occasions. Klopp will be demanding an improvement from his side from those performances, with the Carabao Cup final just around the corner.

Hopefully, he could have a few extra options to call upon to get the job done in West London. Here is the latest injury and fitness news on Liverpool, including when the Reds can expect key men back and available again. Salah couldn't play against Burnley, but Klopp said on Friday that he might be ready for the Brentford game. Salah has been working hard to get better at the AXA Training Centre after he hurt his hamstring on January 18 at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Klopp mentioned: "Mo is going in the right direction. We hope, but we don't know, that he can be a part of parts of training next week. But we have to see. He is going through all the paces now and it looks positive. It's either next week or the week after. If you ask him, it's next week."

The return of Trent Alexander-Arnold

The Liverpool defender was forced off at half-time against Burnley, having been absent recently with a knee problem. After the match Klopp shared: "His knee again? Yes, it felt like that. He got it stuck in the grass and we will see. We have [to send for] assessment." "Same area in the knee. Nothing really bad, but he felt it again and we have to see, we have to assess it. Trent said it's fine, but it's not fine [because] he feels it so we had to be careful and took him off."
