Unfortunately, the Pool's joy at securing their second Premier League win of the season went out the window when striker Darwin Nunez went off injured, leaving him doubtful for Tuesday's clash with Liverpool, who are favourites to win the first meeting between Europe's biggest clubs.

A real duel of strategy between Klopp and Ancelotti will take place at Anfield on Tuesday. On one side, Barcelona's La Liga rivals, and at the other end, the Red's who are looking to continue their climb up the Premier League table. No doubt this clash will be of high calibre and also a repeat of the last final in Paris, where VARdrid were crowned.

After the game against Elche, Karim Benzema suffered physical discomfort which ruled him out of the last game against Osasuna in Pamplona. The 35-year-old striker missed most of the Club World Cup, where he reappeared in the final, scoring the goal, with a niggle he has been carrying from the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Kroos and Benzema out

On the other hand, German veteran Toni Kroos was left out of Ancelotti's squad after a gastrointestinal problem that led him to rest, it is expected that this weekend the midfielder could receive medical clearance and travel to Anfield. In addition to them, Ferland Mendy is also a doubt following a hamstring injury.
