Liverpool manager Arne Slot has a new target to bolster the Reds' defensive options. According to reports in the European press, the Dutch coach has requested the signing of right-back Jeremie Frimpong, who excelled at Bayer Leverkusen last season, winning the Bundesliga title.

Slot is seeking a player with Frimpong's characteristics to create competition with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back. The Dutchman, known for his pace, attacking ability and crossing quality, would be an excellent option to add even more quality to Liverpool's squad.

Frimpong, 24, has already shown his potential in Europe's top leagues, having played for Celtic and Bayer Leverkusen. The player, who holds dual nationality (Dutch and Ghanaian), is contracted to the German club until 2028, which could complicate the deal.

New investiment?

Frimpong's arrival at Liverpool would be a significant investment for the club's future. The player has everything to become one of the world's best right-backs and could form an extremely high-quality pairing with Alexander-Arnold, rotating in the position and giving manager Slot even more options.
