Last summer Liverpool fans were on the edge of their seats until the last day of the transfer window, as they feared that rumors of Mohamed Salah's departure would come true and he would leave for the Pro League. Al-Ittihad were willing to pay a fortune for him to put together a world-class attacking duo alongside Karim Benzema, but ultimately failed to do so. The team suffered that, as they did not perform well in the Saudi Arabian tournament.

The Egyptian winger had already given his word that he would stay at Anfield Road and, moreover, the Premier League season had already started, so his departure at that time could cause irreparable damage to the squad as there was no time to find a suitable replacement for him.

But this did not discourage the Saudi Arabian side, who are still hoping to convince him next summer. Reports indicate that they are preparing a multi-million offer that would make 'Mo' the most expensive player of all time, surpassing the £190 million Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar Junior in 2017. In addition, they could offer the forward a salary of £72 million net per season.

However, apparently Salah's response again would be negative. According to Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddt, quoted by Anfield Sector on X, Mohamed will reject Al-Ittihad's offer because he intends to continue competing at the highest level, something that would be impossible in the Saudi Arabian Pro League. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's staying at Liverpool, so fans will have to wait for news about that.

He still has goals this season

Regardless of what happens next summer, Mohamed Salah is focused on winning as many titles as possible this season. Last weekend Liverpool were Carabao Cup champions, while they still have a chance of winning three other titles: the FA Cup, the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.
