After losing to PSG in the Champions League round of 16, Liverpool is already starting to work with an eye toward next season. The Reds are looking to sign at least five new players.

Liverpool intends to move on as quickly as possible. After suffering the devastating blow of being eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 (against PSG), the English side has already begun working on giving their project a new lease of life.

The Reds have practically wrapped up the Premier League title (they're 15 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal with 10 games remaining), but their management believes the squad hasn't been up to scratch in Europe's top competition and that some changes are needed.

The names

According to CaughtOffside , the Anfield Road club have already targeted five players who would improve the squad's potential. Among them, three Newcastle players stand out who would be worth the extra cash: left-back Lewis Hall (25 years old), winger Anthony Gordon (24) and striker Alexander Isak (25).

Likewise, Pool is keeping an eye on another pair of forwards who are clearly progressing: Brazilians Joao Pedro (23 years old) and Matheus Cunha (25). The former is having an interesting campaign with Brighton (eight goals and seven assists in 24 matches); while the latter is a key player for Wolverhampton, with whom he has 15 goals and four decisive assists in 29 matches.
