London, Mar 10 (EFE).- Liverpool have signed a sponsorship agreement with Adidas worth 60 million pounds a year (71 million euros) for the German brand to design their kits for the coming years.
Adidas already supplied Liverpool with their kits from 1985 to 1996 and from 2006 to 2012, and will succeed Nike as the main supplier of the Reds' kits. The Reds have not revealed the duration of the agreement with the German brand, which will come into effect from next August.
"We have had many successes in the past and created some of the most iconic Liverpool shirts of all time. We thank Nike for their support over the past five years and wish them all the best for the future," Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan said in a statement.
"It's one of the biggest clubs in the world and has the biggest fan base. The shirts we've created in the past are some of the best ever and we want to continue making classics for the fans," said Bjorn Gulden, Adidas's CEO. EFE
