Liverpool celebrates three years of Luis Díaz's arrival

On January 30, 2020, Liverpool surprised everyone with the signing of Luis Díaz during the winter transfer window. The Colombian, who had been shining at Porto, impressed the Reds with his performance in a Champions League match. His signing was an immediate success, and with a contract until 2026, he has played 128 matches, scored 36 goals, and provided 14 assists.

On social media, the English club celebrated his signing with the message: "We call him Lucho. Luis Díaz joined the Reds three years ago today." The post was accompanied by several iconic photos, including one of the four titles the Colombian has won with Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp and Luis Díaz's arrival

Manager Jürgen Klopp played a key role in Luis Díaz's decision to join Liverpool. With a phone call, Klopp convinced the player to move to Anfield, and Díaz quickly proved his worth on the pitch. After returning from a serious injury in May 2023, Klopp expressed his fondness for the player: "I love him, I absolutely love him."

A year later, when Klopp left Liverpool, Luis Díaz sent him a message of thanks: "No matter how much someone tries, no one will be able to define all of Jürgen Klopp's greatness in a text."
