Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus has admitted he would like to sign Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah this summer.

Salah 's contract at Anfield has entered its final five months and there has been no sign of an extension yet, despite public pressure from the Egyptian in an attempt to speed up a deal, when the striker himself is having one of his best seasons, with a goal-scoring record that has made one rethink whether his future lies in a Red or a move to some exotic country.

Saudi Arabia officials have been pursuing Salah's signature for years, with Al Hilal now the most likely destination following Neymar's shock departure last month, with Jesus' side recently backed to complete a deal if the prolific striker does end up leaving Liverpool.

In an interview with Canal11 , Jesus was asked if Salah could be the next superstar to take his talents to Al Hilal, and he made no secret of his desire to strike a deal.

"I would like to," said Jesus. "But if he wants it... I don't know. Salah is a great player, he has a way of playing that would fit in with our team, but I don't know any more."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has also publicly urged his talisman to sign and write, but the contractual impasse continues and Salah's former team-mate Dejan Lovren recently accused the decision-makers at Anfield of disrespecting the Egyptian.
