Mohamed Salah's future continues to be one of the most talked-about topics in the world of football. After speculation about a possible transfer of the Egyptian to Paris Saint-Germain, the French club's president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has publicly denied any interest in signing the Liverpool striker.
Al-Khelaifi's statement, given in an interview with Sky Germany, brought significant relief to the Reds' fans and manager Arne Slot. The Egyptian is one of Liverpool's key players and his departure would be a huge blow to the team.
Speculation about Salah's move to PSG gained momentum after the end of the Egyptian's contract with Liverpool was announced. With the possibility of signing a pre-contract from January, the striker became a target for several European clubs, with PSG being the most mentioned.
In addition, PSG's search for a new star striker to replace Mbappé, should the Frenchman leave the club, intensified rumors about the possible signing of Salah.
In an interview with Sky Germany, Nasser Al-Khelaifi was straightforward: "That's not true. He's a fantastic and amazing player, but we've never considered him, to be honest. We know every club would love to have him, but this rumor about us is simply not true." The PSG director stated that the club is always looking for reinforcements, but that, at the moment, there is no interest in signing Salah.
Al-Khelaifi's statement was received with enthusiasm by Liverpool fans, who fear losing one of the team's key players. Manager Arne Slot also breathed a sigh of relief, as Salah is a key piece in his plans for next season.
With Al-Khelaifi's denial, Salah's future remains uncertain. The Egyptian has yet to renew his contract with Liverpool and could leave the club at the end of the season. However, the PSG president's statement reduces the chances of a transfer to the French club.
In addition to PSG, other European clubs are eyeing Salah. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are some of the possible destinations for the Egyptian. However, so far, no official offer has been made.
The saga of Mohamed Salah's future continues. Nasser Al-Khelaifi's denial of PSG's interest in signing the Egyptian brings some calm to Liverpool fans. However, the saga is far from over and the coming months promise to be decisive for the striker's future
