Goalkeeper: Ray Clemence (1967-1981)

He won three European Cups, five Leagues, two UEFA Cups, one Cup, among other titles. He played 665 games with the Reds and more than a thousand matches in his career.

Right back: Phil Neal (1974-85)

He is the player with the most titles in Liverpool's history: 22. He played in five European Cup finals and played 417 consecutive matches with the Anfield team.

Center: Alan Hansen (1977-91)

Great leadership skills. He won eight leagues, three European Cups, two Cups, three League Cups and six English Super Cups (Charity).

Center: Vigil Van Dijk (2018-?)

Signed at the end of December 2017 for 80 million euros, he is one of the main players responsible for Liverpool's current great form. Carragher (690 games) or Ron Yeats (tremendous centre-back from the 1960s) could also take his place.

Left back: Emilyn Hughes (1967-79)

He played 665 games for the Reds and was the captain who lifted Liverpool's first European Cup. A great character, he also played for a period as a centre-back, forming a tandem with Phil Thomson.

Inside right: Ian Callaghan (1960-78)

He is the player with the most appearances in Liverpool's history: 857. He joined the club when Shankly became manager. Also in this position of honour could be Stevie Heighway, who played on the right flank in the 1980s, and Billy Liddell, who was at the club from 1938 to 1961.

Midfielder: Steve Gerrard (1998-2015)

The club's great emblem of the 21st century, although he retired without winning the Premier League. He completed an extraordinary and moving match in the comeback final against Milan in 2005. In total in that edition of the Champions League he scored 13 goals.

Midfielder: Graeme Souness (1977-84)

Solidity, great display and leadership ability. He won five leagues, three European Cups and four League Cups. He arrived at the club the same year as Alan Hansen and Kenny Dalglish.

Left inside: John Barnes (1987-97)

He won eleven titles with the Reds, but no European Cup. A player with great skill and goalscoring ability, he was the club's great star in a more gloomy period.

Forward: Kenny Dalglish (1977-90)

The eternal King Kenny at Anfield. He played 515 games and scored 172 goals. He won three European Cups and six leagues, among other titles. He came to the club to replace Kevin Keegan. In 1985 he served as player and coach after Joe Fagan retired.

Forward: Ian Rush (1980-87 and 1988-96)

He is the club's all-time top scorer with 346 goals in 660 games. Five league titles and a European Cup are among his 14 titles with the Anfield side. He left for Juventus in 1987 after scoring 40 goals the previous season for the Reds but returned a year later.
