The Premier League is getting more and more red with each passing week. Liverpool came back from behind against bottom club Southampton (3-1) on Saturday and, despite having played one more game, increased their lead to 15 points after Arsenal could only draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United (1-1) today with ten games to go in the English championship.

A title that Liverpool have only achieved once, in 2020 and under Jürgen Klopp , since the Premier League adopted its current system in the 1992-1993 season. Before that, the 'reds', now managed by Arne Slot, were champions of England on 18 occasions, so they aspire to do so on 20 occasions and equal Manchester United's record.

On Sunday, the League Cup final against Newcastle

In England, there is hardly any doubt that Liverpool will win the title, but when will it be? There are ten games left and the Reds will not play this weekend as they will play the English League Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday.

It is the first of the three trophies they are up for this season, in addition to the Premier League and Champions League, in which they will start Tuesday with a one-goal advantage to decide the round of 16 tie after last Wednesday's victory in Paris against PSG (0-1).

Liverpool brought forward their match from Matchday 29 to 19 February (2-2 against Aston Villa in Birmingham) and on Sunday, just before the League Cup final, Arsenal will host Chelsea in the league derby. The Premier League, like the rest of the leagues, will be halted for international matches and will not resume until 1 April.

Option 1: Against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

There will then be nine games left. If they beat Chelsea, they will be 12 points behind Liverpool, who need six wins to mathematically be champions. That is, of course, if the Gunners also win everything. In that case, the title would come on May 3 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool will host eternal rivals Everton (April 2), West Ham (April 13) and Tottenham (April 27) over the next six rounds, while they will visit Fulham (April 6), Leicester (April 20) and Chelsea (May 3).

Six of Liverpool's remaining nine games will be played at Anfield: they will host Arsenal (10 May) and, in the final round, Crystal Palace (29 May). Their last away game will be against Brighton (18 May).

Option 2: at Anfield and against Arsenal!

The most tempting scenario for Liverpool fans would be to celebrate the title at home against Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's men will visit the Reds on May 10 and after this match there will be two games left to go.

Other possible scenarios include Liverpool taking the title much earlier, on April 13 against West Ham, but this would require Arsenal to win just one of their next four games against Chelsea, Fulham, Everton and Brentford.

Liverpool were the first team in Premier League history to win the title with seven games remaining. This was in the 2019-20 season. Manchester United (2000-01) and Manchester City (2017-18) both won the title with five games remaining.
