The 2022-2023 season not only marked the end of the most recent golden era in the club's history after failing to qualify for next season's Champions League, but also the end of an era for players who have become great figures at Anfield and who will now have a new team. Such is the case of Roberto Firmino.
The 31-year-old Brazilian attacker will leave Liverpool as a free agent, as the Reds decided not to offer him a contract renewal with the intention of facilitating his departure to any team that Bobby chooses and in turn be able to rejuvenate the squad. Firmino said goodbye to the club that was his home for the last eight years and where he won absolutely everything under the orders of Jürgen Klopp, who made him a fundamental part of his system of play.
After confirming his departure from Anfield, several teams in Europe and Saudi Arabia have shown great interest in signing the Brazil striker, as they consider that he is still one of the top strikers in European football, so they would offer him very attractive contracts.
One of the teams that would be most interested in signing Roberto Firmino would be the Spanish giant Real Madrid, as they would be looking for the replacement of Karim Benzema, who aims to emigrate to the Arab league with a multimillionaire contract. However, they would not be the only European club trying to contact Firmino to convince him to play for them next season.
Another team that would have Firmino under their radar is the current Serie A champions in Italy, Napoli. The Neapolitans would be looking for a striker who can compete with Victor Osimhen in the team's attack and thus form a more powerful squad for the next Champions League.
