The Pool's matchday lecture at Anfield comes at the best possible time as they have two key games in less than a week to look forward to in the second half of the season. Before defining their place in the quarter-finals against Madrid, Liverpool must go to Bournemouth.

With this pace of play and what they showed this weekend at Anfield against United, the Red's for the casino are the overwhelming favourites to beat the Cherrys, and thus arrive in Madrid with their morale high in search of the feat. This match will be the last one before another FIFA World Cup break after the World Cup in Qatar.

The second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 will be the big stage for Liverpool to prove once again that seven goals are possible. After being thrashed 5-2 in the first leg at Anfield, spirits were low and the club were held to a drab goalless Premier League draw by Crystal Palace.

Tottenham game will be key

After talking tough in the dressing room, Klopp brought back key players who helped in back-to-back wins over Wolverhampton and Manchester United. It is now with the weekend's game against Bournemouth that the Red's could string together a third win, and reload the gunpowder to score four goals in Spain to qualify for the quarter-finals once again. The key to qualifying for the next Champions League in the 2023-2024 season will be on 30 April when they face Tottenham, who are three points adrift and are currently in fourth place for the final European Cup ticket.
