Our Liverpool's last game against Aston Villa ended with a resounding 3-0 win, but it came at a costly price. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who came on as team captain after Virgil van Dijk's suspension, had a great game and led the team to their third win of the Premier League campaign, however he was injured before the end of the match.

After the game, Jürgen Klopp said that tests would be carried out to determine the seriousness of his injury, which according to the German tactician would have been in the hamstring, but that Alexander-Arnold's own feeling was that it was something minor and not so serious, so it was expected that he could play in the next matches of the England national team during the international break.

However, the English national team and Liverpool have officially announced that Alexander-Arnold has withdrawn from the England squad for the matches against Republic of Ireland and Germany due to the injury, so the 24-year-old will remain in training and focus on his recovery with the club, thinking about what is coming up for Liverpool in September, which will be loaded with five matches in two weeks.

How serious is Alexander-Arnold's injury?

According to The Athletic's James Pearce, scan results showed that Alexander-Arnold's hamstring damage is minor and he is expected to be out of action for two weeks, which puts him in doubt for Liverpool's game against Wolves just after the international break.
