Liverpool will visit Manchester United this coming Monday 22 August at Old Trafford in a Premier League matchday 3 fixture. Although both teams are not in the best shape, it seems that the Red Devils' crisis is bigger than the ones on Merseyside, at least in terms of points.

Manchester United have lost their first two games, the last by a 4-0 scoreline, while Liverpool, despite injuries, have managed two draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace in the first two games. Jurgen Klopp's side will be confident of a good game, despite the absentees and apparent striker crisis.

Facts

Manchester United have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games against Liverpool and have not won any of the eight since a 2-1 victory in March 2018.

The last time the Red Devils had a longer winless run in the league against an opponent was between 1983 and 1987 (10 against Everton).

Liverpool are looking to win three consecutive away league games against United for the first time in their history, plus it is the first time the two sides have met in the first three games of a league campaign since 2013-14, when Liverpool won 1-0 at Anfield.

This is the first top-flight meeting in which both teams have not won in the Premier League, not including any fixture in the opening game of the season.
