Incredibly, the winner of the 22/23 Premier League season came three games early. Arsenal's slip-up against Brighton in London last weekend meant a ninth league title for the Citizens. Victory over Chelsea only framed the celebrations at the Etihad.

While the Reds did not have a great day with a hard-fought draw against Aston Villa, Klopp was able to keep the club's spirits high as Firmino, Keïta, Chamberlain and Milner were all applauded by the fans after the German manager's huge gesture of allowing Naby to come on despite his muscle injury.

As Football Tweet reports, Pep Guardiola preferred to carry on with the title celebrations, rather than take the game against the Seagulls seriously. "40 hours ago we had drunk all the booze there was in Manchester. So the way the team played was extraordinary," said a nonchalant Guardiola, who is relaxing ahead of the UCL final.

The differences

It is worth noting that City, a club without tradition according to various fan forums, has grown exponentially since the arrival of petrodollars from the Middle East in 2008. For now, Klopp and the Pool are preparing for the final game of the season against Southampton.
