The economic power of Saudi Arabia has been demonstrated in this 2023, as the Arab league has managed to attract great figures of world football such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Now, the name that sounds to go to earn millions of euros to the exotic league is that of Riyad Mahrez, who could leave Manchester City after winning the Champions League.
According to the prestigious journalist specialized in transfers, Fabrizio Romano, Mahrez has a contract offer from Al Ahli to join them next season. Such offer would have aroused the interest of the 32-year-old Algerian right winger, who would be willing to leave Pep Guardiola to emigrate to the Arab league.
Mahrez, who is under contract until 2025 with the Citizens has been a very important player for Guardiola, playing in 30 of 38 Premier League games last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 10 assists. If his departure is confirmed, Mahrez would join the list of players arriving this summer in Saudi Arabia, such as Benzema and N'Golo Kanté.
Nowadays it is not easy to find players who are loyal to a team, but if there is one thing Liverpool can be proud of, it is to generate in its players a deep sense of belonging that motivates them to continue at Anfield regardless of the situation, such is the case of our eternal captain Steven Gerrard, who gave the best years of his career to the Reds despite the interest of other teams in signing him.
In the team's recent era, Mohamed Salah has become Liverpool's biggest star as he has won the hearts of Anfield with his great performances. Salah has won every trophy possible with the Reds and although he has also attracted the interest of millionaire teams, he has never had any interest in leaving us. A true sign of affection for our club.
