Bad news for Darwin Nunez, he has seven games without scoring, Klopp has had enough and makes this decision

Manchester United held Liverpool to a valuable 0-0 draw at Anfield. The Reds dominated, especially in the final part of the game, but could not get the reward they were looking for and had to settle for a point.  With 38 points and after dropping their first points of the season at home, Liverpool are now second in the standings, while Arsenal, who had earlier beaten Brighton 2-0 at home, move to the top of the table with 39 points.

Third on 38 points are Aston Villa, who won 2-1 at Brentford on Sunday.  The title race is becoming even more exciting. Manchester City, who could only draw 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, are four points off the podium and five points off the pace. United got a great result For Manchester United, the draw in Liverpool almost felt like a victory, against their regional and historical enemy. The point was also earned in the absence of suspended captain Bruno Fernandes and injured Harry Maguire.

The England defender was deputised to perfection by Frenchman Raphaël Varane, leading a busy defence for Liverpool's attacking stars, who were held scoreless on this occasion. Liverpool had good chances through Virgil van Dijk (28), Trent Alexander-Arnold (66), Mohamed Salah (70) and Ibrahima Konaté (77) but no real firepower in this match, much to the despair of their fans. United had a great chance in the 67th through Rasmus Hojlund, but the Dane missed the Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

It is now five years since Manchester United failed to score at Anfield in the Premier League, since Jesse Lingard did so on 16 December 2018 in a 3-1 defeat. Darwin Nunez has now gone seven games without scoring for Liverpool and on Sunday he didn't have the best of games against Manchester United, being booked early in the game for a silly play. According to different reports, Jurgen Klopp will send him to the bench for Wednesday's game against West Ham in favour of Cody Gakpo.
