Two of Real Madrid's key players, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, have contracts that expire on 30 June 2023 and only the Croatian is getting closer to an extension that would also have negative consequences for other players. Eduardo Camavinga, one of the club's big guns for the future, would have in the signing of the German and the Balkan a compelling reason to consider an exit, but now it is another man who could be affected by this: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The estrangement with Kroos has encouraged Florentino in recent weeks to note down several names as future alternatives for the German, a privileged list headed by Jude Bellingham and the aforementioned Milinkovic-Savic.

However, although the Englishman had a slight advantage in the president's list of priorities, the latest revelation about the Lazio midfielder will serve to shake up Real Madrid's intentions in terms of finding a top-level replacement for Kroos.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has leaked that the 27-year-old's dream is to play for Real Madrid. Although other giants of the old continent such as Manchester United, Juventus and even Bayern Munich have expressed a certain degree of interest in signing the Serbian, Los Blancos are counting on this extra trump card to bring them closer to Sergej if Kroos finally leaves the Bernabeu.

However, the downside of this information is that it has also been leaked that, for the moment, there are no talks open between Real Madrid and Lazio to discuss the possible transfer of the player, who is tied to the Roman side until 2024 but who now, after making his future intentions clear, is Florentino's priority to replace Kroos, something that distances Bellingham from the possibility of arriving in Madrid next summer.
