England moved on course to qualify for next year's European Championship in Germany after crushing North Macedonia 7-0 in a match at Old Trafford where Arsenal's Bukayo Saka shone with a hat-trick but Liverpool's Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander Arnold also chipped in with an assist apiece.

The result took England to 12 points in Group C and a six-point lead over second-placed Ukraine, who will be their opponents on 9 September when there is an international break where the national team could all but seal their ticket to the continental showpiece as they look to end their drought of international silverware.

But while this match was taking place at the home of our rivals there was news that shook the Liverpool fans and is that a legend of the Reds has already defined his future and will play next season with Paris Saint-Germain trying to earn a place and participate in the restructuring of this club that will live a new stage after the departure of the Argentine Lionel Messi.

Farewell star

The midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, who after a season at Roma in Italy will not continue in the team coached by José Mourinho and will return to the Parisian team that owns his sporting rights. The 32-year-old midfielder will leave Liverpool in 2021 after winning the Premier League and Champions League.
