It was a thrilling conclusion to the Premier League season

It was a thrilling end to the Premier League season as Liverpool played out a crazy game against Southampton to draw 4-4 and finish in fifth place in the table with 67 points and will play in the Europa League next season. While our City rivals Everton achieved salvation by beating Bournemouth.

The Reds started with a comfortable lead thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino who made his farewell appearance for the club with a goal. But the home side quickly responded and equalised before half time. In the second half, the Saints took the lead to 4-2, which seemed to be the final score.

However, German boss Jürgen Klopp made changes that paid off as the team regained control of the match and in the final stages of the game managed to equalise thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo to make the score 4-4. The draw did nothing to change Liverpool's position as they failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season.

Everton were saved

While at Goodison Park Everton had a nerve-wracking game and managed to win 1-0 to secure their place in the Premier League and send Leeds United and Leicester to relegation. This achievement of our rival was celebrated by former captain and legend Jamie Carragher who had said on social media a few days ago that he did not want Everton to be relegated.
