Cristiano Ronaldo made his first statements, via his social networks, after Portugal's elimination at the hands of Morocco (1-0) yesterday Saturday in the quarter-finals of Qatar 2022 assuring that, despite what "much has been said", his "dedication to Portugal did not" change "at any time", as he "always" fought for "the "biggest and most ambitious dream" of his career, which was to win a World Cup with his country to which he would "never turn his back".
"Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career. Fortunately I won many titles of international dimension, including Portugal, but putting our country's name on the highest foot in the world was my biggest dream," he kicked off his post on his official Instagram account.

"I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream. In the five appearances I scored in World Cups over 16 years, always alongside great players and supported by millions of Portuguese, I gave everything. I left everything on the pitch. I never turned my back on fighting and I never gave up that dream," he continued.
"Sadly, yesterday the dream ended. It's not worth reacting in the heat of the moment. I just want everyone to know that a lot has been said, a lot has been written, a lot has been speculated, but my dedication to Portugal has never changed. I always fought for everyone's goal and I would never turn my back on my colleagues and my country," he continued.
"There is not much more to say for now. Thank you Portugal. Thank you Qatar. The dream was nice while it lasted.... Now, I hope that time will be a good adviser and allow everyone to draw their own conclusions," he concluded. Now, after Portugal's elimination in the quarter-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo is defending himself against the criticism of his figure and does not reveal what the next step in his career will be. But in different media there was even the possibility that he could join Liverpool to cover the absence of Luis Diaz, who re-injured his knee.
