On Sunday 17 December, Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield Road in the big game of the 17th Premier League matchday. Jürgen Klopp's side are in their best form of the season and that's why they reached the top of the Premier League last weekend. They will face the big derby of English football with the need to take the three points to assert themselves at the top. Man United maintains the irregularity that has sustained all semester, both from the results and from the game.

It will be a big challenge for both. A good result in this clash could boost the great present of one or change the mood of the other. Liverpool looked after their best players in Thursday's Europa League clash, having already qualified for the last 16. Darwin Núñez, Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah are available to play in the derby and their team needs them to be sharp.

For Man United, Harry Maguire will be looking to maintain the good form shown in some of the last few games and also needs Alejandro Garnacho to take his chances. Liverpool are coming off a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace to go top of the Premiership. In the Europa League, they lost to Union St. Gilloise with an alternative eleven.

Liverpool are favourites for their good form

They have won four of their last five Premiership games. Meanwhile, Man United are coming off the back of a Champions League exit after losing to Bayern. They also lost their last game in the English league, 3-0 to Bournemouth. The last meeting was the historic 7-0 thrashing of Liverpool in March this year.
