Reds' shortcomings are evident

Although Liverpool have had a good start to the season, winning two games and drawing one with three goals conceded and six goals scored, it is clear that the defensive and midfield saga is lacking and reinforcements are needed as soon as possible as the transfer window is about to end and so far no significant progress can be seen in terms of any new additions.

So the team has to be very cautious as the current players are not enough to cover for injuries or dismissals, so a couple more reinforcements are needed at Anfield. While the players are making great efforts and leaving everything on the pitch, there will come a time when this will not be enough.

So Jamie Carragher spoke on Sky Sports about what Liverpool need after the game and said "They've got to try and do it this week. They've got to bring in a defender and a midfielder" so the Reds will have to get their act together and move as quickly as possible to make the necessary signings to have a competitive squad.

Jürgen Klopp and his masterclass

Despite not having as big a squad as he would have liked, Jürgen Klopp has done a great job in putting together a functional team, with players like Dominik Szoboszlai who has done a remarkable job for the Reds so far, and the enormous quality of Mohamed Salah who is a guarantee to generate dangerous plays both in passing and movement, being the leader of the team in attack. No doubt this is also thanks to the work of Jürgen Klopp and his match management, as by making the right changes they were able to win the game against Newcastle.
