One more exit, one more casualty for our Liverpool this summer, as we are about to witness how Fabinho, a player who has won everything with our club being also a key player in Jürgen Klopp's scheme since his arrival in 2018, will leave Anfield to join Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad.
Fabinho's sale was not budgeted for. In fact, the 29-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder was considered by Klopp a starting player and it was even said that the German tactician would have no intention of letting him leave this summer, especially considering that next season will be very important for the team, as they will try to reverse the failure of the last campaign in which they did not even achieve the minimum objective of qualifying for the Champions League.
However, Fabinho was seduced by Saudi Arabian football and after talking to Klopp about his desire to leave, our coach decided to give the green light for his sale, which was agreed at £40 million, an amount that could help the Anfield board to continue signing young players who can join Klopp's project, who plans to sign at least two or three more players.
For several weeks now, Liverpool have had Romeo Lavia as their main target to complete their midfield renewal after signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. So far, the Reds' board has launched two offers to Southampton for Lavia, the last one was for £45 million and it is expected that the signing can be completed in the coming days as various media claim that the player and his entourage also want the arrival of the 19-year-old at Anfield, despite the recent interest of Chelsea.
