Many are the players who have passed through Anfield without glory, especially in the years prior to the recent winning era of the club in which every possible trophy was conquered. Some left through the back door never to shine again in another team, but there is one player who after his departure from Liverpool has conquered Europe.

Before Liverpool returned to the highest levels of the Premier League and Europe, they had a group of players who tried to shine at Anfield, but failed to do so and ended up leaving for other teams.

Such is the case of English striker Danny Ings, who arrived at Liverpool in 2018. Ings excited a sector of the fans thanks to his great physical prowess, but he was never able to establish himself as a starter for the team and scored only 4 goals in 25 games with the first team. Ings played just 947 minutes for the Reds.

His failure was so great that two years later he left the club and moved to Southampton and then to Aston Villa and later to his current team, West Ham. Despite his poor performance on the pitch, the Reds' board managed to get 25 million euros for his transfer, perhaps the best thing Danny Ings did for Liverpool.

West Ham European champions

West Ham, the current team of former Liverpool striker Danny Ings, have just been crowned champions of the Europa Conference League after defeating Fiorentina. Ings did not play in the match, but he is still part of the winning team.
