It's official, Liverpool already has its first reinforcement for next season and it is the world champion Alexis Mac Allister, who arrives at Anfield from Brighton & Hove Albion to the joy of the fans and Jürgen Klopp. However, not everyone would be happy about Mac Allister's arrival and one of them is our captain Jordan Henderson.

It is no secret that Hendo has been one of the players who has dropped his level of play the most during the last campaign in which our Liverpool was out of the top club competition at European level by finishing in fifth place in the Premier League in the 2022-2023 campaign.

That is why a large section of the fans are not happy with the performance of Jordan Henderson, who after the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister could change his role within the team. Mac Allister arrives at Anfield as the star reinforcement in what is expected to be a long list of names joining the Reds this summer, especially given the departures of players such as Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

During the club's most recent golden era in which, under Jürgen Klopp, they have won every trophy possible, Henderson has been a key player. However, in the world of football you can't live in the past, so it is almost a given that although he will not leave the club this season, Henderson will change his role at the club.

Henderson's new role after the arrival of Mac Allister

With the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister as a star reinforcement, Jordan Henderson will probably not play as much time as in other seasons and it is almost a fact that he could lose his starting role. It has even been suggested that Hendo could take over Milner's role as a leader in the dressing room who will have playing time in the less important games of the campaign.
