Liverpool's board has decided they don't want the player to come back to Anfield

Although the 2022-2023 season was not what was expected, Liverpool had achieved in recent years a spectacular resurgence that led them to win every tournament they played under the orders of Jürgen Klopp. This new golden era consecrated several players as legends, given that they brought great joy to all the fans at Anfield, and although some have already left the club they will always be remembered by the fans, however the board has another thought when it comes to returning former players to the club.

It is no secret that Liverpool will be one of the big buyers this summer as they need to sign players that will allow them to return to the Champions League as soon as possible and at the same time shape Klopp's project in the medium and long term, so the priority is to sign young players of great quality.

In that sense, Liverpool has several players in its sights and has already initiated the first contacts with some teams to inquire about the availability of those who interest the coaching staff of Jürgen Klopp. Such is the case of Alexis Mac Allister and Manu Koné, young players with great future projection and for whom Liverpool already know what they would have to pay if they want to sign them for next season.

Given this scenario, Liverpool's board would not consider the return of players who, although they have given great results in the team's recent history, are not currently at their best, as they believe that the team has the necessary players to meet the challenges that will come in the 2023-2024 season.

No “shocking” return for Mané

In recent days, several reports have pointed to a possible return of legend Sadio Mané to Anfield, after spending a year at Bayern Munich where he did not show the level he once had with the Reds and where he was also suspended for hitting his teammate, Leroy Sané.

However, Jürgne Klopp's priority is to shore up the midfield and defense, as he considers that the team's attack is the most solid, since despite the departure of Roberto Firmino, they have Luis Díaz, Darwin Núñez, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, as well as the young talent of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot.
