While the signing of Alexis Mac Allister and the incessant interest in high-calibre players in that area have to some extent brought a degree of calm to the team, the situation does not seem to be quite the same with those elements who have a place to play next season, and manager Jurgen Klopp must make it a priority to resolve the doubts surrounding Jordan Henderson as well as what is likely to be Alexander Arnold's new dip near the centre circle.
While it has been said that Henderson will not lose his position as leader and captain of the squad even if his activity could be drastically reduced with the arrival of new elements, perhaps one of the most contentious situations with the England international revolves around his departure in the summer of next year, with both the German coach and his players losing a man of experience who will now try to emulate James Milner's footsteps.
While the Henderson issue is still undecided, Klopp and the board know that one of their top priorities at the moment is to secure the stay of their home-grown gem, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and while the player has a contract until the summer of 2025, Liverpool want to start negotiations that will allow the right-sided defender and possibly now midfielder to stay on Merseyside for a much longer period of time.
With a pre-agreement or final agreement on a contract extension, FSG may not have the desire to pursue the three signings Jurgen Klopp has demanded in recent weeks, with the group having to adjust to the possibility of only having a couple more new additions, putting the German manager at a crossroads as he will have to scrap many of the prospects he already has in mind in order to keep TAA.
