Despite inconsistent performances in the Premier League, in line with Liverpool, the 30-year-old Egyptian star has been relentless in European competition, where his five goals have helped seal his side's passage to the knockout stages. Salah is the competition's top scorer, level with Paris Saint-Germain's 23-year-old star Kylian Mbappé. However, what puts the Red ahead of the French striker is his effectiveness.
However, Salah is not the only one making history in this year's Champions League. In the women's competition, striker Sam Kerr is outshining all her rivals. Chelsea have had a fantastic start to the group stage, taking all six points from their two matches to lead Group A ahead of Real Madrid and PSG.

The English champions began their campaign with a 1-0 win over the French side, after which they thrashed Vllaznia 8-0. It was in the thrashing of the Albanian side that Kerr made history with her performance. The 29-year-old Australian striker became the first player to score four goals in a single match in the group stage of the tournament. Kerr needed just 63 minutes to set the record, having been replaced by Beth England just after the hour mark.
And she needed just five shots to do it. In the two matches played, the Australian has taken ten shots on goal and scored four goals, putting her at the top of the scoring charts. She has scored fewer than Wolfsburg star Ewa Pajor, who has three goals to her name, Real Madrid's Esther Gonzalez, Roma's Valentina Giacinti and Lyon striker Lindsey Horan.
Kerr has been the top scorer in England's FA Women's Super League for the past two seasons, so her prolific start to the season with the English giants has come as no surprise. Both Liverpool and Chelsea will be hoping their superstars Salah and Kerr can maintain this early scoring run throughout the campaign to challenge for the big trophy.
