Fernando Torres is 38 years old and Liverpool fans remember him fondly for his great four-year spell at Anfield, arriving in 2007 and leaving in 2011. In this period he scored 87 goals and provided 20 assists, being one of the best strikers in the Premier League and Europe, pairing up with Steven Gerrard, who was at his physical and footballing peak.

In June 2019 he announced from Japan, where he played for Sagan Tosu, his retirement from professional football at the age of 35 after having played for five different clubs: Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Milan and the aforementioned Japanese side. "After 18 exciting years, the time has come to bring my career to an end," said Fernando 'Niño' Torres by way of farewell. Very active on social networks, we have seen him in the last few months at numerous events and also presenting

The Last Symbol', the Amazon Prime Video documentary that traces his sporting career from his beginnings to his last matches in the land of the rising sun. But nothing prepared us for his great physical change, which of course has not taken long to go viral. Torres has posted a video celebrating his appointment as Southeast Asia ambassador for a sports bookmaker, but it's his new, muscular look that has taken the networks by storm.

With the celebration of Torres' birthday, a controversy was generated on social media among Reds fans. Many consider him to be the last great centre forward of the team, but others place the Uruguayan Luis Suárez above the Spaniard. While the dispute is even, most have pointed to the South American as a better player than The Kid. The reality is that they have been two great players who are well remembered at Anfield.
