Liverpool's chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League are over. The Reds will have to make do with playing in the Europa League, something that has left the squad in total dismay. Mohamed Salah, one of the team's key players, shared a harsh message on social media and took the opportunity to apologise to the fans.

"I am totally devastated. There is absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to reach next year's Champions League and we have failed," began the Egyptian attacker's brief statement.

"We are Liverpool and qualifying for the competition is the minimum. I am sorry, but it is too early for an uplifting or optimistic release. We let you and ourselves down," added Mohamed Salah.

Salah's future

It should be noted that on an individual level Mohamed Salah had a good season as he was involved in 46 goals for the reds during the year with 16 assists and 30 goals but once the season was over now his immediate future will be away from Liverpool as he will be travelling to his country to play for his national team in the Africa cup qualifiers.
