Liverpool are clear about their objectives with regards to the upcoming summer transfer window, after failing to qualify for the next Champions League the team's board and Jürgen Klopp are convinced that the team needs young players who can help the near future of the club in which they hope to return to Europe's top club competition and for that they are willing to spend millions of euros, especially if it is a player who is on the team's radar and who also expresses his desire to arrive at Anfield.

It is no secret that the priority for Klopp and his coaching staff is to reinforce the midfield area, since after the departure of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the team needs new players to strengthen that sector. However, Klopp would also be on the lookout for a central defender to help Virgil van Dijk turn the team into one of the most solid.

To that end, Jorg Schmadtke and Jürgen Klopp have set their eyes on the Bundesliga, where both have a wealth of experience, to find young talents who are eager to come to Anfield, and according to various reports the new Liverpool manager's favorite player is 22-year-old central defender Micky van de Ven, who would be keen to leave Wolfsburg to play for the Reds.

Micky van de Ven has recently shown that he would be very excited to join Liverpool and his €18 million price tag, according to the Transfermarkt portal, would make him the ideal candidate to strengthen the Reds' defense.

Micky van de Ven and his desire to play at Anfield

In an interview that van de Ven gave in January, he expressed that his great desire is to play at Anfield because when he was a child he went with his father to watch a Liverpool match and since then he fell in love with the club.“I once went to the Liverpool stadium with my dad. That was madness. Then when 'You'll Never Walk Alone' comes [on] - that's a goosebump moment, that was very cool. It's a dream to play there”.
