After the disappointment of not qualifying for the Champions League next season, Liverpool is considering a major overhaul that will focus on consolidating the midfield due to the departure of players such as Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner. In this regard, Jürgen Klopp and the Red's board are targetting players that can help them achieve their goals, and it seems that they are willing to snatch other clubs' targets and pay millions of euros for it.

As part of the scouting carried out by Liverpool, it has been reported that the club prioritizes the arrival of young players and with that, names such as Alexis Mac Allister and Mason Mount are being heard as the closest reinforcements to Anfield, this after the failed negotiation for the young star of Borussia Dortmund, Jude Bellingham. However, the club does not want to close the door on the eventual arrival of more experienced players.

Although Klopp and his coaching staff are looking to renew the squad with players of future projection, they also know the importance of having players who can guide these promising young players and in turn bring quality to the team. But it will not be easy to get such players, as it is to be expected, there will be other big teams interested in reinforcing with players of these characteristics.

Such is the case of Wolverhampton's Portuguese midfielder Rúben Neves, who has one year remaining on his contract with Wolves and is worth 40 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. However, being his last year of contract and with the background of having sought his departure from the club last season, Liverpool could get a bargain and take him at half price, for an approximate value of 25 million euros.

Liverpool vs Barcelona, a fight for reinforcements

With the Reds interested in the 26-year-old Portuguese, Barcelona have also joined the battle to convince Neves to join them. Neves was named Wolverhampton's Player of the Season and joins Jules Kundé as the two players both Liverpool and Barcelona are pushing for.
