While Liverpool's transfer window has seen the signing of Alexis Mac Allister as well as interest in new defensive and midfield players, things have been changing for manager Jürgen Klopp with the departure of key players and leaders such as Roberto Firmino and above all James Milner, forcing the German to look to his players for new leadership roles on the pitch.

When it was thought that Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and even Alisson Becker could be the support that Jordan Henderson needed in the captaincy, in recent days the call-ups of the Merseyaside players to their respective national teams allowed the German tactician to observe the individual qualities of each element, with the good performance of Andrew Robertson in the match against Norway being noteworthy.

It seems that the good interventions of the Scotsman against the group led by Erling Haaland were enough proof for Klopp to take this experienced player as a real option to be the third captain of the team, and after having touched the glory with the winning of the Premier League and the Champions League as well as having been part of the failure of last season, Andrew is a complete player who knows the meaning of victory and defeat in a very short time.

Klopp now needs more attacking leaders

Having seen how his right-sided defender is capable of taking on more than just his positional role, manager Jürgen Klopp must now know that one of his top priorities is to find a new moral leader to help Salah in attack, While Van Dijk and Robertson are in charge of the defence, Henderson and Mac Allister will be in charge of the midfield, and all that remains is to find the duo that will keep the Egyptian attacker company during the season, with Diogo Jota currently one of the most capable men to take on a new challenge in his career.
