When Sadio Mané decided to leave Liverpool a year ago, fans were saddened and Jürgen Klopp had to think of a replacement for one of the most important legends in the team's recent history, and in the transfer market a year ago the Reds' board signed Luis Díaz, who turned out to be a great investment for the team.

The 26-year-old Colombian winger arrived from FC Porto, where he shone and aroused the interest of big teams in Europe, but Liverpool finally managed to convince him and paid 47 million euros for him. Today, a year after his arrival, Luis Diaz is valued at 75 million euros, demonstrating that he has the conditions to be a star at Anfield.

However, signings do not always end as well as Luis Diaz. Such is the case of Anderson Arroyo, a Colombian central defender who played alongside Luis Diaz in the South American U-17 Championship representing the Colombia national team in 2018, and since then caught the attention of recruiters even above Diaz himself.

In that same year, Arroyo was recruited by Liverpool, believing he could become the new leader of the Reds' defense, however the player has had problems with his work visa in England and has not been able to make his official debut with the Merseyside team since then, which is why he has gone from club to club on loan. In total he has been loaned out six times, as Jürgen Klopp refuses to sell him permanently as he is confident in his talent.

Anderson Arroyo and his desire to play at Anfield

Due to problems with his work permit, Anderson Arroyo has not been able to play a single game for Liverpool, however the 23-year-old Colombian defender is not giving up hope of one day playing for the Premier League's biggest club. “The truth is that it is my goal, my wish, my dream to be able to make my debut for Liverpool”, he said back in 2020.
