With fans constantly questioning the commitment and leadership qualities of Liverpool's captain Jordan Herdenson, there are other players who, with less time in the team, seem to have a better idea of what it means to wear the shirt of a historic English football club.

Such is the case of 29-year-old Brazilian midfielder Fabinho, who arrived at Anfield five years ago in 2018 from Monaco, and during his time at the team that "Never Walks Alone" has conquered the Premier League and the Champions League, under the orders of Jürgen Klopp, becoming a central piece of the project led by the German tactician.

Fabinho has won the hearts of Reds fans, even in times of poor sporting results such as the recently completed 2022-2023 season in which Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League and after which several players who were fundamental in the team's resurgence, will leave the squad.

With this scenario, Liverpool will go out to the transfer market with the task of reinforcing various areas of the field, however one of the most heard arguments that could prevent the club from getting the players they want is precisely their upcoming absence from the most important club tournament in Europe. Given this, Fabinho said that whoever arrives at Liverpool will do so because he is convinced of the idea that Klopp has for the future of the team, just as it happened to him when the German coach recruited him.

What did Fabinho said?

In an interview with Player's Tribune, Fabinho recalled that other big teams in Europe sought him out when he was playing for Monaco in the French league and assured that he decided on Liverpool the moment he spoke to Klopp for the first time. "After talking to Jürgen Klopp, you don't want to hear from anyone else. It's like, 'OK, thank you, I'm going to Liverpool!"
