Liverpool needs to continue reinforcing this summer, as Jürgen Klopp's intention since the end of last season is to sign young players, capable of raising the level of play of the team, especially midfielders who not only can have an immediate impact, but also can be part of the long-term project of the team.

The German tactician has already had several players in mind for some weeks, but now with the possible departures of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara, those options have expanded and names have emerged of players who were not initially considered among the candidates to arrive at Anfield.

Such is the case of Cheick Doucoure, the 23-year-old defensive midfielder who plays for Crystal Palace and who had a fantastic season in the Premier League, as he was not only a decisive factor in his team avoiding relegation, but was also voted Crystal Palace's Player of the Season.

The Malian midfielder would have aroused the interest of Liverpool, because with the departure of Fabinho, Jürgen Klopp would be looking for a midfielder of these defensive conditions that could arrive at Anfield. In that sense, Docucoure is presented as a viable alternative for the Reds' board, because in addition to already having experience in the Premier League, he only costs 35 million euros, which should not be a problem for Liverpool.

Doucoure made Liverpool suffer

In the two games in which Liverpool faced Crystal Palace last season, Cheick Doucoure started and helped his team to two draws. In those games Doucoure's stats were impressive. He won 7 out of 11 defensive duels, 4 out of 4 aerial duels won, 12 interceptions and 23 ball recoveries.
