Liverpool failed to end the Premier League season with a win as they drew 44 points at Southampton, confirming they will play in the Europa League next season as they finished fifth overall with a total of 67 points, but it was also a day to bid farewell to two club legends.

Jürgen Klopp made changes to his line-up and sent on James Milner and Roberto Firmino, two historic players who will leave the club after this game, and the Brazilian responded by scoring the team's second goal in the first half which gave them a seemingly comfortable lead to take the victory but it was not enough.

The Saints responded and in the second half they turned the score around and went up 4-2, although by the end of the game the Portuguese Diogo Jota and the Dutchman Cody Gakpo appeared to score the equaliser. Once the game was over Firmino and Milner acknowledged their great love for the team during the last few years of glory.

He stays

However there is one player who had intended to leave the team at the end of the campaign but has been convinced by Jurgen Klopp to stay and that is Irish goalkeeper Kelleher who started against soft Hampton and put in a great performance showing he has the ability to stay and compete for a number of games next year.
