It's official: an iconic midfielder of Liverpool and English football in general is leaving the Anfield club and is now a Brighton player, signing for the club until June 2024. It was known, but the confirmation came on Wednesday.

The player is none other than 37-year-old James Milner, whose contract with Liverpool was due to expire this June and who leaves after eight seasons in the Reds' shirt and after winning everything under Jürgen Klopp. Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, European Super Cup and Community Shield.

Brighton itself made official the signing of the illustrious veteran that is Milner, until now Liverpool's second captain, who arrived in 2015 from Manchester City (with whom he won two Premierships, an FA Cup, a League Cup and a Community Shield).

Farewell legend

He left the England squad in 2016 after 61 caps to focus on the Reds, who on Wednesday thanked him for his services and wished him the best of luck with the Seagulls.
