Liverpool is shaping up to be one of the most active teams at European level in the next transfer season, after having sealed a season without titles and in which they failed to qualify for the Champions League. One of the main markets that the Merseyside team is exploring is the Bundesliga, where they are already targeting a player who has made Bayern suffer and who costs 30 million euros, according to the Transfermarkt portal.
The German league opens as a great ally for the Anfield team mainly since the arrival of Jorg Schamdtke to the sporting direction of the team. Schmadtke has experience and contacts around the German league, which would facilitate the approach with the clubs that own the players that Liverpool have in their sights to reinforce for next season.
Such is the case of the 22-year-old French youngster, who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Manu Koné, who in his time in the Bundesliga already knows what it is like to score against the big teams in the country, such as Bayern Munich, who have had to suffer when facing one of the most promising jewels of French football, which has earned him the interest of big clubs around the world, such as Bayern, PSG and of course Liverpool.
It is precisely Jürgen Klopp's team the most interested in buying Koné, since the priority of this next transfer market, which begins on June 14 in England, is to strengthen the midfield in view of the departures of Keita, Milner and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Although everything indicates that the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister is a fact, the Reds' board will not be satisfied and will look for more players for that area of the pitch.
According to Bild journal, Liverpool has already asked about Manu Koné's price, and the response of Borussia Mönchengladbach is clear: they will not sell Kone for less than 45 million euros as they don't want to commit the same mistakes they had with Marcus Thuram and Lars Stindl, for whom they did not make any profit.
