Jürgen Klopp and his coaching staff are still looking for reinforcements for next season, since the Reds failed to finish in the top four of the Premier League and will have to wait at least a year to return to the Champions League. To achieve this, the German coach would aim for a new goal and would be willing to pay the 55 million euros he is worth.
Klopp has made it clear that his priority is to renew the midfield because he considers that after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the team must look for young players with great future projection who can play in that area and contribute immediately to the club, as well as be part of the long-term project.
In that sense, Liverpool already has its first big signing for the next season and it is the world champion with Argentina in Qatar 2022, Alexis Mac Allister, who will arrive at Anfield for a much lower price than what the Anfield board had initially contemplated to pay Brighton for him, which opens the door for more players to come to strengthen the squad.
The Reds are already eyeing at least three or four more players to arrive at Anfield this summer, and one of them is James Maddison. Maddison played for former 2017 Premier League champions Leicester City, a team that was relegated last season, so now the 26-year-old midfielder is reportedly looking for a new team.
James Maddison has established himself as one of the most prolific players in the Premier League thanks to his excellent ball striking. Last season alone, Maddison scored 10 goals and provided 9 assists and although Leicester City ended up getting relegated, the 26-year-old English midfielder could fit well in Jürgen Klopp's scheme.
