Liverpool continues to seek reinforcements for next season

The current summer transfer window has turned out to be quite different from what was initially planned for our Liverpool, as the team was shaping up to be one of the most active in terms of signing new players, especially taking into account the disappointing end to last season when they crashed out of the next edition of the Champions League.

The Reds managed to sign Alexis Mac Allister a couple of weeks ago, which excited a large section of the fans as the 24-year-old Argentine midfielder had a great season with Brighton and with the Argentina national team, with which he won the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

However, the board has not yet managed to finalize the second reinforcement for next season, and everything seems to indicate that although we are close to finalizing the second signing, the team may not sign all the players that were planned, so Jürgen Klopp will have to think of alternatives to further strengthen the squad, especially after the many departures we have had this summer.

One of the areas of the field that most worried Klopp last season was the defense, because although we still have in Virgil van Dijk one of the best defenders in the world, the team was the one that conceded the most goals of the top five in the Premier League, which cost us our place in the top club competition in Europe. Given this, Klopp would be keen to bring in at least one new defender and the free agent market could hold the solution to our problems.

Samuel Umtiti has been a player heavily criticized by the Spanish press due to his time at FC Barcelona, despite this the 29-year-old French central defender has won everything with the Catalan club and also won the World Cup in russia 2018. The latest information claims that Umtiti has reached an agreement with Barcelona to terminate his employment relationship so he can now sign with any team in the world at zero cost.
