Vladimir Smicer arrived at Liverpool in 1999 from Lens, where he did an excellent job, and was the only Lens league champion in its history, so he arrived at Anfield as a great reinforcement and undoubtedly the Czech left his mark on the history of the Reds with golden letters, because although his career looked good from France, when he arrived in England he conquered it.
Upon his arrival at the Reds the team had a great run of form as he won practically everything with the Reds, the only thing he could not achieve was to win the Premier League, however he was compensated by winning the Champions League in 2005, after the Reds amazing comeback, who, at half time lost 3-0 against Milan in Istanbul, however in the second half everything changed.
Smicer was a great accomplice to this great and historic season, as he scored the second goal, after having told Steven Gerrard not to hit the ball, he received it and with a potent cross-shot beat Brazilian goalkeeper Dida. So the Czech marked his history against the Reds as one of the best, being very productive for the team.
So now and away from the pitch, Smicer has a much quieter life, as he now devotes himself to writing. Vladimir Smicer, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday after a successful career in football, also recently published his book My second life. He also accompanied the publication of his book with a post on his social networks where he assures that he will return to writing.
In addition to writing Smicer can be seen very happy with his family, enjoying his successes, where football seems to be no longer a priority, and he can be seen focused on other aspects of life. In addition to writing, he can be seen playing other sports such as ice hockey, as well as golf on a smaller number of occasions, and without a doubt he continues to play football, which makes for a very active life for the Czech.
