With the arrival of legend Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabian football, rumours began to circulate of Liverpool players he could sign for his new team and in the last few hours the possibility circulated that captain Jordan Henderson would be his first request offering a juicy contract as well as being the leader in this new adventure.

However, journalist James Pearce revealed in a report in The Athletic newspaper that Liverpool have so far received no offers from the Saudi Arabian club to sign the captain, who is under contract with the Anfield outfit until 2025. This is bad news for two of the team's new stars.

Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones shone in the game between Israel and England as they battled it out for a place in the final of the European Under-21 Championship being played in Georgia and Romania. The British took the victory and now await Spain or Ukraine in the deciding game, where the red academics are expected to make their presence felt and show their quality.

Surprising fate

According to several local reporters, with the decision not to leave Jordan Henderson and the arrival of players like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, the opportunities in midfield for Elliott and Jones will be significantly reduced, so their participation in Jürgen Klopp's team will be limited to a few games in the Premier League and see more activity in the different cups of the season.
