The midfielder has refused to play in Wednesday's friendly in Germany

Liverpool are kicking off their pre-season campaign with their first friendly against Karlsruher. The game will take place on Wednesday 19 July at the Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, with the English and German teams respectively. Moment of truth for the "Reds", mainly because it is a season without Champions League but with Europe and a team that accelerates the transition of the figures of the winning era in the current market.

The German coach Jurgen Klopp knows they are without James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino, and possibly Fabinho, to be replaced so far by Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

We are in the opposite situation, as the Germans have just finished in seventh place in the second division of German football, so they will have to fight again for the top three places. It is Mr. Christian Eichner who is in charge of the technical director, knowing that, after this match, they will play against Darmstadt and then start the 2nd Bundesliga.

The decision

While Jordan Henderson refused to play in this game because he is negotiating his departure to Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, manager Jurgen Klopp has made a drastic decision that has Europe talking, and that was in his line-up, starting Darwin Nunez in attack and leaving Cody Gakpo, who had a better performance last season, on the bench.
