Egyptian star Mohamed Salah is having the toughest season since joining Liverpool in 2017 from Roma. So far in the current Premier League season he has only scored two goals and provided two assists and fans are beginning to question whether the 30-year-old attacker is on the decline or just in a bad way.
The change of the African has been very striking compared to what happened last season in which he scored a total of 23 goals and took 13 steps to today being one of the stars of the Reds point but this 2022 is extremely difficult for him because with his national team lost the final of the African Cup and also lost the qualification for the World Cup in Qatar that will start in November.
Jürgen Klopp wants to do the same as Pep Guardiola?
Here's the important reason why Salah isn't shining
Salah is part of Liverpool's poor run of form, having won just two games so far this season and coming off the back of a 4-1 drubbing by Napoli in a match played at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in the first round of the Champions League group stage, while in the Premier League they are far behind leaders Arsenal, who are currently 15 points clear at the top.
However, Mo Salah continues to receive constant praise and one of those was from Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen who currently plays for Manchester United. In a statement to a media outlet, he claimed that the best African player he has played against in his entire career is the Liverpool striker who wears the number 11 shirt.
Christian Eriksen is 30 years old and joined Manchester United this season from Brentford, where he resumed his career after a heart problem in 2021. He made his professional debut in 2009 at Ajax in the Netherlands and has spent eight years in the Premier League with a seven-year spell at Tottenham, during which time he has faced a number of African stars, but none like Salah.
