With names such as Ian Rush, John Barnes, Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher and Luis Garcia, the can designs come in different colours, but what stands out is that there is one name that they forgot to include in at least this first list of promotions: that of the legendary and historic Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard, the legend

Gerrard, currently manager of Premier League side Aston Villa, is Liverpool's third most-capped player with 710 appearances, second only to compatriot Jamie Carragher, and scored 186 goals for the club, making him the fifth-highest goalscorer in the club's history.

He was considered one of the best players in the world at the time. Gerrard spent most of his playing career at Liverpool, despite being wanted by several major European clubs throughout his career, including Real Madrid, Barcelona,4 Chelsea, Manchester City,5 and Bayern Munich. He is one of the greatest idols in the history of the institution.

His achievements include two FA Cup and three Football League Cup titles, as well as the 2001 UEFA Cup and the Champions League in 2005. He is a member of the Order of the British Empire and has been voted FA Premier League player of the year on several occasions, as well as being among the best players in the world and in the ideal teams for many seasons.
