Liverpool's aim was to reach the top of the table and stay in the European places, now far behind in the standings. But they came up against a clinical Arsenal start that saw them take a two-goal lead on the half-hour mark. He wasted a great chance to revive the match. Andy Robertson and Salah had the equaliser in the 57th but were denied. It was late on, with Trent Alexander Arnold's great work leaving Oleksandr Zinchenko exposed to cross into the heart of the box where Firmino stepped in to send an impossible ball, into the net, beyond the reach of Ramsdale who then multiplied to prevent his side's damage from being any greater (2-2).
