The first game of the 2023-2024 season of our Liverpool is behind us and the performance of Jürgen Klopp's team left many doubts after the draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, because although offensively it is noted that the team is dangerous, defensively it still leaves much to be desired.

In that sense, the need for Liverpool to sign a quality defensive midfielder who can complement the good work done by Szoboszlai and Mac Allister in their official debut with the Reds became even more evident. In addition, it was also evident that there were some players who were not very comfortable in the position in which they played.

Such was the case of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who despite having great performances at the end of last season as a midfielder, was used by Klopp as a right back. After the game, our Liverpool vice-captain said that he would like to play again as a midfielder as he feels that from that position he can control the game better, however he pointed out that it is not up to him to make that decision. Now, everything seems to indicate that Jürgen Klopp already has a solution to Alexander-Arnold's complaints.

The solution

According to the German media, Abendzeitung, FC Bayern right-back Benjamin Pavard struggled in the German Supercup because he wants to leave the team this summer and mentally he is already at Liverpool or Manchester United. In that sense, the newspaper SPORT BILD assured that Jürgen Klopp has been interested in Pavard for weeks and that now we could see a fight between Liverpool and Manchester United to sign him.
